The Pavement Quality Index is a quality rating system used to represent the current condition of public roads which under the authority of the City of London. Data about the road condition is collected annually, using specialized sensing equipment. Measurements of surface distress, roughness and deflection are then assessed and used to determine the PQI. The Environmental & Engineering Services Department uses PQI data to support decision making concerning the prioritization of road maintenance and rehabilitation activities on the City’s road network. |
